To install over a network you need to have Windows Deployment Services installed, which is an update to Remote Installation Services that runs on Windows 2003 or 2008 server.
You make an image of an install using sysprep, the image is stored on the server and then searched for during a PXE boot after POST has been sucessful. The system boots, looks for a DHCP server, receives it's local IP address and then streams the installation over the network.
One of my customers has a Sony VAIO I had to install this way because the two previous DVD drives have a fault in them.
