Asked by cedlinx in Microsoft Windows Operating Systems, Miscellaneous Hardware, Disaster Recovery
I have a software which uses a dongle as security (or for authentication) and it's been working very well until this morning. I removed the dongle to try on another computer with the same software which evaluation period was over. It was recognized and worked well. I tried it on yet another where it said something THE DEVICE HAS MALFUNCTIONED AND WINDOWS DID NOT RECOGNIZE THE DEVICE. I then returned it to the original computer and still got the same message. Now the program would not work except for those already open and working (the program is used by multiple users on a network) before the problem. And this has been one big pain in the neck because the company is gradually coming to a stand still. We can't work without the software running.
Please help me resolve this and I would really appreciate any and every assistance you could give.
Thanks in anticipation.
