I have an Advent 9107 and I am having real bad problems. Basically since I have had the computer and it is 18 months old I have always had error messages on my screen. A common example would be when I switched the computer on it would tell me that it had recovered from a serious error. Recently the problem has got worse, I have always had a problem loading up software, games etc the computer just didn't seem to want to do it often with a messge telling me that the file was corrupt and that there was a problem unpacking the contents. In the last week the computer basically just failed, I have reinstalled xp and totally wiped the hard drive in a desperate bid to solve this problem but it just hasn't helped, the computer runs really slow when starting up if it does and then if I get to my desktop get all sorts of windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close messages. Another guy seems to have had the same problem I noticed on here and it was suggested that he change the motherboard, if this is the case could I just put in any motherboard or does it have to be specific.
