XP Pro setup feezes at devices on laptop with only cd and hard drive

I have a 5 year old laptop that I was going to chuck so I formated the hard drive. Now I have a use for it. I reformated and partitioned the drive and started xp pro setup with an xp disk that came with another comuter I have. It freezes at the device detection stage with 33 minutes to go. I am by NO means hardware knowledgable. Can anyone help? Thanks.Start Free Trial
