Opengl doesnt always work right

Opengl software doesn,t alway display right on starting program the 3D goes all blackish.It works 50% of time but its a pain ive tried different display drivers but no good,ive got celeron 400 diamond viper550 with nvidia 2.08 drivers and the diamond drivers are even worse win95 0sr2 i cant fix it.
Ive tried it in 640by480 but its still the same,ive always had this problem

Ive tried reducing acceleration graphics bar but still just the same but more jerky of course.I had the same problem when I was using the diamond drivers but they slowed all opengl graphics to a crawl and I would have to reboot nvidia ones luckly dont do that I just start progs again(quake2 or alterworlds screensaver) and cross fingers.When it works its perfect.
