Check this first---
All mixing devices should either be plug and play and picked up by win95 to use it's driver or you need to install the drivers on the disk that came with your mixing device. Mine for instance is built into my sound card-- not very complex.
Check this next--
Your Control Panel Multimedia properties let you select devices you have installed for sound. You also want to select the option to have the volume control show up in the taskbar. For all volume and level controls, you can double click on the taskbar symbol to get another menu. you aren't done yet...
now check this--
When the menu with various volumes appear, choose the Options-Properties selection. there you will find the selection for a mixer device to choose. Selections will include those mixing devices you have installed on your system.
These are the proper steps. If your mixing device is not available, you will need to re-install it's drivers and verify in the system properties it has now been identified. From there, you can set everything up.
