HardDisk Jumper
I see on the label of the Harddisk , it said , Cable Select for Master/Slave. Does anyone explain me When should I use this type of setting?
P.S. Sorry if the question is not in the topic I write to , because I don't know which topic I should ask for this question.

Cable select is alternative to using master / slave jumpers on ATA hard drives. Both drives have same setting, and selection is done via cable selection, requires special cable, and drives must be positioned correctly on cable. (Much like dual floppy cables, cable position determines whether drive is master or slave, rather than jumpers.) You should not use this setting, unless using a cable provided for the purpose, the only advantage is for mass production of multi drive systems where manufacturer does not have to worry about individual settings for each hard drive, all are simply configured for drive select.
