Capturing Printer Output in a Text File

Asked by Snakie1066 in General Microsoft Operating Systems

Hi.

I have a program that reads a binary file and prints that file in a character-based format to a printer. Rather than printing it I want to capture those characters in a text file. Does anyone have experience with doing something like this? I sort of remember mapping a text file to a printer moniker or something like that. Perhaps logging a hyperterminal session might work? So, to be explicit:  "How can I capture the output from this file in a text file rather than letting it print out?"
