The Solution Rating System

With so many solutions, how can you tell which solutions are most likely to help you and which ones are not? To provide you with a tool to use, we rate our solutions based on various elements that most accurately determine if a solution is a quality solution. To explain what factors affect the solution rating, here are the elements we take into consideration when formulating our solution rating.

  • The Grade of the Solution
  • The Zone Rank of the Expert Providing the Solution
  • The Number of Author and Expert Comments
  • The Number of Experts Contributing
  • The Feedback of the Community

Your Input Matters
Because of the way the system is set up, the most important variable in this equation is you. As a member of Experts Exchange, you are able to cast your vote on the quality of the solutions in regard to how complete, accurate, helpful and easy to understand each solution is. When you provide your feedback, each rating is adjusted accordingly. So, if you see a solution that has a poor rating that you think is a good solution, let us know by rating it. Uninstal windows 95 and instal windows 98

Hi there,
           
           I have Windows 95 B OEM and want to instal Windows 98 OEM. ( i actauly have a win xp pro as well but the win 95 system says it is not a pentium so it cant instal win xp pro, so im settling for 98). This is a pretty old win 95 system it only has 24MB.

I have this spare  PC (which i am online now with) so i can chat while im fixing the other pc from 95 too 98.

Now what i have done so far!! And this is all i have done!! Is too download win 98 OEM bootdisk down onto a floppy disk from www.bootdisk.com.

I went to the pc with 95 on it and pressed restart computer,  with the 98 bootdisk in the disk drive! The first thing that comes up is:

Non-System disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready

So that's as far as i can get.

       What i want to do is uninstal windows 95 and instal 98. I just want the best recomended way, wipe the hardrive or whatever you say(so if you have a way to suggest , please advise) Please be simple with me. Though i am a web designer and technically minded, i dont do uninstals and re-instals of windows very often, so i really dont know mutch about it.
