Browse All TopicsWe are running Windows XP x64 edition and Office (Outlook) 2003.
We're trying to add an Exchange email account to the desktop. The Mail icon is missing from the control panel. The .cpl file for it cannot be found.
Has anyone else encountered / resolved this?

I figured out the issue...
Office 2k3/2k7 are 32-bit applications, therefore you need to run the X86 control panel in order to access the Mail icon.
To do so, follow these steps:
1. Start > Control Panel
2. Select "View X86 Control Panel Icons"
3. Now you'll be viewing the icons for 32-bit DLLs, and Mail is included there.
NOTE: This also contains the SPEECH icon where you tweak items like default text-to-speech or voice recognition.
SAPI4 and SAPI5 voices are selectable there, not within the normal Control Panel (64-bit one)
