Browse All TopicsI recently Formatted My pc HP-HDX 18-1180US, From Vista x64 to Windows Xp x64 Main reason is because I do alot of video editing and my windows vista was good for a while but it kept on showing choppy playback etc etc, Now I'm back to windows Xp x64 and its been running really smoothly it handles all my 720p and 1080p video editing, but My problem is (not big deal but REALLY ANNOYS ME) is that when I hear anything no matter a youtube video or mp3 or video , when it starts up it makes a REAL annoying pop sound, and when the audio source is finished it makes another Pop noise and even when im not doing nothing (usually a few minutes after i listened to something) it makes another pop noise. Its really annoying to the point were I want to format again to another OS. But I don't want to since I have alot of programs to edit with to reinstall. really time consuming.
Here is a audio sample of the noise:

The Pop Sound Happens At these times on the audio link above: 0:01, and it happens again 0:07
It happens Frequently. Its been like that since day one of the reinstall
Help really needed! that pop noise is driving me insane.

I know it sounds strange, but try to install the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (found here http://downloadcenter.inte l.com/Prod uct_Filter .aspx? Prod uctID=2101 ).
I've had similar problems with my centrino 2 based notebook, and installing the storage manager fixed it.
