Windows 7 Taskmgr saving "Show processes from all users"

Hi all,

I've just installed Windows 7 RTM x64.
I'm wondering if there is a way to get it to remember that I want to view all processes from the right click "start Task manager" shortcut.

I do know you can put a shortcut to taskmgr.exe on your desktop and change it to run as administrator, but how to change the default behaviour of the windows shortcut is more my question.
I really don't want to be showing my desktop every time I want to see all active processes.
Is there a way to change it's behaviour?

Oh, and also as per what I had to do with Vista (Just because Vista was too damned annoying) this time I do not want to turn off UAC.

There is not currently a way to set it to remember that setting :(

As a side note, you'll notice UAC is MUCH less intrusive then it was in Vista.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\AppCompatFlags\Layers]
"C:\\Windows\\System32\\taskmgr.exe"="RUNASADMIN"


Paste above into Notepad

Save it as .reg

And run it.


Next time you run task manager it will start as admin.

That doesn't change the 'show all processes' does it? That would be cool if it does....

Yes it does 'show all processes' is not a check box that decides what you see, but is a status of the mode of privileges you are in.
If youre in admin mode its check
If not then it is not
