Question

Network printing error

I have a small home network - printer server is running Vista SP2, connected via USB to a Brother MFC-255CW.
Have it shared out, just as I did the old Lexmark, but when I try to connect to it from my Win7 device, I get

operation failed with error 0x00000002

Any ideas?

Try installing a windows 7 driver for the printer on the Win7 machine - seems like it cannit use the Vista Driver

I believe is a driver issue
Check here

then connect the printer to your 7 machine in order to install the drivers and then reconnect it back to original Host (XP,Sp2)

Sorry, I don't think it's a driver problem - it comes up immediately when I click 'connect'.  If I click 'open', nothing happens.
Win7 driver is already loaded...

Nope - I ended up setting it up on the wireless connection, although that's not my ultimate goal, it does work.
