Make windows to be like XP

Hello,
I have a few PC with XP, I am very happy with XP, but today i purchased a laptop that came with windows 7. My question is I m happy with all the interface of xp, the logic, the settings of the start menu to the documents dir. How can I have this windows 7 be like xp. I start my toshiba laptop and it lods the software for me with out a cd. I was not even given an option to partition. all in all I want to be able to have the same interface as xp and a partitioned drive.

I think you're going to end up very limited in this though. Eventually I'm sure there will be more customizations, but you have to remember that 7 is a big jump from XP and some of the things may not be able to be done.

Look at Partition Wizard to re-partition Win 7.  You might also look at EaseUS Parition manager.

My advice (free): learn to live with the new taskbar... I actually like it, specifically being able to preview each of the windows that are on the desktop.

rmmarsh is right. The Windows 7 interface grows on you. Give it a few weeks and you won't miss XP.

As for the partition question, Windows 7's partition tools are actually pretty decent. Windows 7 will allow you to shrink your Windows partition on the fly, even while the OS is running. Like XP, I believe this can be found under Administrative Tools -> Computer Management -> Storage -> Disk Management. Select your Windows 7 partition, right click on the partition and choose "Shrink Partition". Choose an amount you would like to shrink the partition by. Windows will take some time to shrink it. Once it has finished, you'll be left with some partitioned space you can use to add additional partitions to.
