Advance tab in file types for Windows 7

I cant find seem to find the Advance tab in the file types option in Windows 7. I need to make a change on the tab for the .doc extension.

Hello,

What are you trying to do, exactly?  See the '.doc' extension for a file on your hard drive.  Windows 7 hides file extensions by default (rather annoying), but this can be disabled by opening the Folder Options applet from the Control Panel. Select the 'View' tab and un-check the 'Hide extensions for know file types' check box.

I am trying to go to files types then find the extension then click the advance tab to make a setting that has to do with "browsing in same window" and uncheck " confim after file....." very easy in XP but can find this in 7. I noticed in indexing options there are some file type things but not the advanced tab.

For that, go back into the Control Panel \ Programs \ Default Programs \ Associate a file type or protocol with a program.

yeah, just doing some Windows 7 testing for work and an application we use needs this changed to allow IE to open Word doc without opening an instance of Word. Will do some more searching.

How I would approach this, would be to amke the desited change on an XP amchine.
Open Regedit and go to; HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.txt  Note the changes.
Go to Windows 7, and make a full backup of the Registry and navigate to the same Hive\Key
Compare and recreate the XP registry settings on Windows 7.
Reboot and try your app...
