I assume you mean DriveImage XML. That's one of the products that was reviewed in the article I mentioned above. It has two very interesting comments associated with it:

DriveImage XML is the only one with a portable version (as far as I know).Regards, Joe
DriveImage XML is a less than 2 MB download while the other software are much, much larger.

I am sure you saw in the link I offered
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/backup-and-restore
that System Image is one of the functions you can perform. See top left hand panel.

I've requested that this question be deleted for the following reason:
Not enough information to confirm an answer.
Not enough information to confirm an answer.
There's plenty of information to confirm an answer. The question title is, "what is a good imaging computer software". Numerous experts gave examples of good imaging software. The body of the question says, "Can we still use Ghost to image windows 7 or 8 OS?" The answer is yes, with an up-to-date version of Ghost, as stated in http:#a40009106. The body of the question also says, "What is cheap solution to image computer?" Numerous experts gave examples of cheap, even free, solutions to image a computer. I suggest splitting the points evenly among the eight experts who provided answers. Make the first answer the Accepted Solution and seven of the other answers (one for each expert) the Assisted Solutions. Regards, Joe
