iSeries 5250 connection - Cisco VPN Client - Windows 8 Combo

Hi.
I have a Windows 8 Laptop. Not Pro, Not Enterprise. Just the "8".
I have Cisco VPN version 5.0.07.0440.
I have iSeries Access 5250 software Version 7.1 with most current Service Pack.

AS400 5250 connects great locally, connected via our internal network.
I had to make a registry tweak, but I got VPN to connect to our ASA-5505 VPN Firewall from outside.
When I hook up VPN, then try to connect 5250 to our AS400 via outside connection, I get the Error "CWBCO1048- A firewall blockage or time-out occured trying to connect to the system i"

My windows 7 and Windows XP connections the same way, same software all work fine. Just windows 8.
I have shut off all Firewalls in Windows 8 (there are 3, Domain, Public, and Private), and I have shut down all anti-virus software (even though it works with it running on other op systesm).

Has anyone else run into this and have found a Fix or work around?
Thanks again, in advance.

I would strongly advise you to contact the manufacturer or read his FAQ about compatibility to win8. If the manufacturer has a forum, ask there, much likelier to find other affected people over there.

The Manufacturer is Microsoft Windows 8. Im looking at their forum now some more.

Im finding all over the web, this is a problem. Its not an IBM or Cisco Problem, because simple Telnet, and Mocha TN5250 doesnt work either.
Its not hardware, its op system causing me to not be able to use my TN5250 software over the VPN Connection.

Thanks. Still looking

An incompatibility always involves at least 2 parties. So check with IBM and Cisco supports/FAQs as well.

Thanks McKnife.
The TN5250 software connects perfectly in house (iSeries Access). No problem what so ever.
The Cisco VPN connects Remotely good, and I even see it conneting on my VPN firewall (useing a hot spot for the laptop).
I had to make a registry tweak I found to get it to do that so yes, it could also involve the Cisco Client still.

Since the AS400 (TN5250) works in house, the 2 parties would be Cisco and Windows 8.
Mocha TN5250 IS compatable with windows 8 it claims, and also works great in house, but not on the road via Cisco Client.

Thanks for the post :)
