Windows 8.1 has forgot how to window?

My windows 8.1 machine (Lenovo X1 carbon) - all up todate, has forgot how windows work.

Some windows stay in front, some open in the back.  Some prompts I can't even get to because they open behind a window and I can't get them infront.

If I have IE open many times, when I select a window by hovering at the bottom task bar icon, the window does not come to front.  I can even drag a window across my 4 screens and as it passes it will be behind some screens.

Anyone ever seen anything like this before?  I image it could be some weird setting, but it's almost making my desktop un-usable.  I do a lot with SAGE accounting, and that barely windows properly on a good day. It's unusable on my current laptop.

I also have no idea what so search for support...

Tracked it to 'Lenovo Auto Scroll Utility' - uninstalling it fixed the problem.  I then re-installed it and the problem has not come back yet.  It must have been corrupted on an update or something.
I have the Auto Scroll Utility installed on my X230 and it does not cause problems. It has been updated a couple of times. So it must have been a corrupted download and/or installation that reinstallation fixed.
Actually - the problem is back - I've updated display link, and removed Auto scroll again.

After a reboot it works fine for a while. Then starts to get weird.  Seems to be when I use Sage 50, But that should not be able to effect other windows like IE.
Are you using the newest version of Sage?  I use QuickBooks (not the same thing) and a lot of other software, but my Windows work properly.

Also, try DISM if you have not already.

Then look at IE, Tools, Internet Options, Advanced and select Software Rendering instead of Hardware Rendering.
Looks like a bug with DisplayLink drivers.  I added them to my 8.1 tablet and now it is having the same issues.  I'm going to look how to report it to them.

I'm in the process of logging the issue with Lenovo support - I can now confirm the issue on 3 separate machines.  ! was brand new out of the box, as soon as I load the displaylink drivers the problems start to appear.
@erikwhiteway  - Thanks for the update and I was happy to provide information on the issue.
