synchronizing pocket access

Hi,

I am new to mobile development..I have to do a task that
1)downloads an access database (which is the centralized database) from a desktop machine to pocket pc 2003, (how do i do that??? )
2)Once i have a pocket access database downloaded with latest data, i develop a form where the field engineers update certain fields with their values..(which i think I can do it using InTheHand third party tool..)
3)Now after thats done, how do i update these new values entered by the user to sychronize with the central database in the desktop??

Thanks. Any ideas/suggestions on these steps would be of great help..

1) Are you sure you will ave room for the Access DB ?

2- You wll need access for pocket PC probably, or use ODBC if you can find it.

I dunno..i don thave the pocket pc with me to play around...But would like to see what experts think on the issues that i might face..

Looks like pocket pc doesnt come with pocket access...so i guess i might have to use a third party tool to do what i want..any suggestions on which 3rd party tools are good??

There is no "Pocket Access" like Access for desktop. The only way you can "talk" to a pocket access database was to use ADOCE which is supported by eVb. .NET does not support pocket access. You have to purchase an $40 component called InTheHAnd Pocket Access.

I'd use SQL Server CE 3.1 or 3.5 instead. Much faster, really small footprint, **FREE**, easy to use and 100% integrated with Visual Studio 2005/2008.

Also, the SQL Server synch is pretty easy to be done.
