I run Activesync on my Windows Mobile 6.0 Samsung i760 phone. I have noticed a bug that I am curious if any of you have seen before.
At random intervals, when I (or any other user) performs a soft reboot of the device, the Server Source (Exchange Server) gets removed. I then have to manually add this again, when Activesync syncronizes my Outlook Calendar, Contacts and Tasks gets duplicated. This is a small issue but it's driving me batty!
I have been using EAS for over two years and have never seen this with any device I have used (and I have used a few). I would be looking to reload the software for the device and then hard resetting it.
If you are only using that one device then it would point to being a problem with the device or the software. It not something I have heard about Windows Mobile devices in general. It has to be something about the device as there is no automatic discover/configuration for Windows Mobile 6 - that is new for 6.1.
After a period of innactivity (say the phone works fine for a week and then loses it's connection for a day) you have to restart the phone with a soft reset. Once you have soft reset the phone, it loses it's server source (Exchange Server) and you have to add that information back in. Once this happens, your Exchange mailbox has duplicates in Calendar, Tasks & Contacts.
No I understand what you meant. It is not a problem I have seen with any device I have used. I reset my devices quite frequently and do not see this issue - which is why I tend to think it is something about either that device or the software that is being loaded on the device.
I don't know what else to suggest because I cannot see any other references to this issue. Have you tested it with the emulator? If the problem does not show on the emulator then I would have to suspect something about the devices.
