Disabling a useless internal WiFi adapter.

Asked by jlimonlason in Windows Tablet, Wireless Network Cards & Adapters

My HP TC1100 tablet PC has a built-in 11 Mbps WiFi adapter. However, it has trouble connecting to the access point, and I prefer to use an external 54 Mbps WiFi adapter through the PC Card slot, which is faster and more reliable. The problem is I can't disable the internal adapter, because when I try to disable it, a message pops up that says that it cannot be disabled because the connexion might be using non Plug-and-Play protocols, or might have been initiated by another user or the system account. What can I do to disable it, because it keeps an icon on the notifications tray which keeps nagging about how it can't connect. I'm running Windows XP Tablet Edition.Start Free Trial
