VISTA CAN NOT CONNECT TO NT4 SERVER SHARE NETWORK

Asked by TDDatATS in Windows Vista, Windows NT Operating System

Tags: , , , ,

Hi have a new machine runningVIsta Businnes.
I've installed it and plugged it into our network. In our network, there is still an old NT4 which serves as file server. I can connect to all other servers, however, when I want to connect to the old NT4, it gives me the message that the server is not available and that there is not printer and file sharing (SMB) active on that server. I can ping the server without any problem. There are a lot of shares on that server so it is very strange I get this message. I don't know where to look for the problem anymore.
Anyone advice?
PS : I got an another VISTA machine which has no problem at all connecting to these shares.
