Yeah, I thought about a VM. Wanted to be sure there wasn't some "connect as" where I could specify authenticating domain credentials. Thanks, Firebar.

Browse All TopicsI have a Vista laptop that I use for myself in support of multiple clients. It's not joined to any domain. I've installed Windows 2003 Adminpak. Trouble is, I haven't been able to figure out how to run any of the utilities with the proper credentials when I'm on a local subnet of a client (their domain).
For example, I'm at client A. I bring up the DHCP administration utility. Add a DHCP server in their domain and it adds but no connection to manage it--error is "Access is denied." Well, okay, I understand that. But where do I specify the credentials? I don't want to have to join/unjoin my laptop to their domain at every visit. And I was trying to find a way to actually use Adminpak instead of RDP'ing into one of their servers and logging on as an administrator.
Is there a way to do this in Vista?

Hi,
Adminpak has to be run from a machine that is joined to the domain. Create a virtual machine, join that to the domain and take it from there, or use RDP.
