regsvr32 "msxml4.dll" fails
Hi All
Sophos Auto Update is failing on a Windows Vista Business PC connected to 2003 Server. Sophos AV was deployed from Enterprise Console.
To install SAV on the Vista PC i disabled UAC and enabled Remote Registry. The install of Sophos went fiine.
Looking at the event log, i can see that the sophos update MSI failed because it couldnt register msxml4.dll.
If i try and o regsvr32 msxml4.dll i get error; 0x80070005 or 0x8002801c
"The module was loaded but the call to DllRegServer failed"
Anyone got any ideas?

Hi Eugene - Yes i am logged on as administrator.

The first link i cant use the second link prompted to remove security update 936181 - which being a vista machine i did not have, so i downloaded the XML core serves. rebooted and SAV updated and is now working fine, BUT i still cannot use regsvr32 to reg msxml4.dll. but as the main issue of getting SAV to work is now solved i am happy. so thanks for putting me on the right track!

Typically you need to logged in as administrator to configure this dll registration services
