Vista / Symantec AV Corporate Compatibility
I have Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition and just got my first Vista laptop today. When I install Anti-Virus it says it's not compatible. Is there a patch I can install or do I have to buy the 11.0 version to get it working?
Download version 10.2 (may have to have current maintenance...not sure) which is Vista compatible. 10.1.6.6000 is the latest for XP on back.
Sorry...that's the latest for the 10.X licensing.
You have to create an account over at the symantec licensing portal and after that you can get your ur update from 10.1 to enpoind security 11.

I went to the Symantec web page and looked up Vista compatibility. I didn't see "Symantec Anti-Virus Corporate Edition" listed, but here is the page I found about Vista compatibility:

I just briefly looked at the site a minute ago and it appears that maybe they are moving everything to the Endpoint Security Product?

Just a note that I found out the hard way. Symantec Endpoint Security and Backup Exec can NOT live on the same server. This has been confirmed by symantec tech support. (Funny though Tapeware seems to work just fine). This is due to the fact that they both use a sybase database (even though it clearly shows a ms sql express database) With both software packages installed the media services will not start, and hence all other services fail due the the dependancy. Boy will my client be pissed
