Vista Home unable to connect to wireless non-broadcasting SSID network

I have a Vista Home laptop (HP Pavilion tx 1000) here from which I'm unable to connect to the wireless network.  I have have at least a dozen other XP laptops that have successfully connected to this wireless network.  
Wireless Access Point Config:
SSID: not broadcast
Security: WEP (64-bit)
Network Authentication: Open

Vista Wireless Network Config:
SSID: configured correctly
Network Type: Access Point
Network Availabilty: All users
Connect automatically when this network is in range: YES
Security Type: No authentication (open)
Encryption Type: WEP
Network Security Key: entered correctly
Key Index: 1 (correct)

Additional note is that I have been able to connect to an unsecured wireless network, just not the one setup for the office.  Thansk
