I just built a new PC and I'm kind of anal about my Start Menu.
I made it so my system folders were not hidden anymore, and I found the Program Data - Microsoft - Windows - Start Menu - Programs area.
But I don't see the items that are listed in the root of my Start Menu such as Windows Calendar and Mail and the stuff that comes with Vista Ultimate Edition. I can rename and create folders which is good, but I usually can see everything on my Start Menu and wondered why the things in the root are not visible.
Just wondered if there is an option I'm missing or if I'm looking in the wrong place maybe...
There's a lot of extra stuff that comes with Ultimate that I'd like to move into a folder and while I can just drag them one by one on the start menu itself, it would be easier doing it via the C drive folder.

shortcuts? did you change user accounts/profiles look around in the c:\users folder for other profile names perhaps you changed names or logged in as something different. There are start menu items in there under <user name>\appdata\roming\micro
for each username of the computer
What was "All Users" in Windows XP was split into the following two folders in Vista:
C:\ProgramData
C:\Users\Public
The shortcuts in the Start Menu living here:
1. C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\W
2. C:\Users\[UserName]\AppDat
A shortcut for those two Start Menu folders is right clicking the start button and selecting "Open" or "Open All Users"
