Mouse does not work

I purchased a new mouse. It is a Wireless Mouse manufactured by Microsoft. It has a receiver to be connected to USB port. I connect the receiver to my laptop's USB port. As soon as I connect it, the Vista says that it recognised the hardware and it successfully installed the drivers. However when I move the mouse the pointer does not move. I check the Device Manager. The device manager sees the mouse and it says that it is fuctioning properly. ( There is a new battery inside the mouse which is mounted in the correct position )Start Free Trial
