What is normal RAM use for fully configured Vista Ultimate with gadgets; without any applications running?

I'm running a dual core 2.56GHz computer with Vista Ultimate and 1.5 Gb RAM. The full Aero configuration is enabled. I run McAfee Total Protection with it. I noticed from a sidebar gadget that my RAM used is 700 Mb. This is before any applications are started. Is this normal, or do I have a problem? I can't seem to find out from Microsoft Help.Start Free Trial
