VERY slow boot after upgrading server and using folder redirection

I had a SBS 2003 server that was on really old hardware. I upgraded the hardware to a new server and migrated the domain using the techet article here: http://technet2.microsoft.com/WindowsServerSolutions/SBS/en/library/62e2094e-ad4e-4227-b20e-97a716ed7c861033.mspx?mfr=true

Everything went smoothly except that my public folders in exchange were hosed on the old server.

After finishing the migration, my Vista desktop boots extremely slowly, like 30-60 minutes extremely slowly. What changed since my last fast boot and my first slow boot was that the old server was taken offline, an alias was made on the new server with the old server name using netdom as per the article mentioned above, and folder redirection was turned on. I attributed the first slow boot to it syncing everything in my redirected folders to the server. But it is taking that long to boot everytime.

Also, and maybe this is related, although I thought it was an issue with the public folders not being replicated, Outlook is running exceptionally slowly on the desktop now also. OWA runs rather quickly though. (especially on this new souped up server!! woo hoo!!)

Is it folder redirection that's doing this and is there a fix for it? I have SP1 for Vista, but I have not installed it yet. Just thought I'd throw that out there also.

If it's not folder redirection, what else could be wrong?
