How do I reduce the memory iexplore.exe is using, as it can get as high as 260,000k

Within 30 minutes of booting up my laptop, my laptop usually starts to slow down, then when I look in Task Manager, the memory it is using can be upto 250,000k.
I want to know how I can find the problem causing this, then obviously fix that problem.
I use Kaspersky 7, and a few other programs, and I have also purchase Registry Booster 2, but this hasn't helped
