Roaming user profile not completely synchronized at logoff

My organization is planning a move to Vista w/ SP1, but we've encountered a problem with roaming user profiles.  When a user logs out, they receive an error "Your roaming user profile was not completely synchronized.  See the event log for details or contact administrator."  The event log shows first that the user's registry is being unloaded (event ID 1530) and is followed by several errors copying profile content (event ID 1509).  The errors read "Windows cannot copy file C:\Users\%username%\Searches to location %homeshare%\Profile.V2\Searches.  This error may be caused by network problems or insufficient security rights.  Access denied."  I then receive an error (event ID 1534) that reads "There are too many profile copy errors.  Refer to the previous event for details.  Windows will not log any additional copy errors for this copy process."  That's concluded with event ID 1504, saying "Windows cannot update your roaming profile completely.  Check previous events for more details."

I have tried elevating the users to administrators on both the server containing profiles and on the local workstation, adjusted permissions on the share and folder containing the users profile to give ownership and full rights, even disabled Vista's network auto-tuning.  No dice.

Anyone know what network problems or security rights error 1509 may be referring to!?

Any updates on how the trouble shooting is going?

Thanks for checking back!  This issue is something of an odd one.  In troubleshooting, I've created an alternative account and directed its profile to a path different from my original.  This account works without any synchronization errors at logoff!  I'm now trying to narrow down if my problems are related to the original share, or perhaps the length of the path (if I'm going too many folders deep), maybe something with the profile itself, or off course permissions on the share and folders leading to the profile location.  I'll let you know what I find.  Thanks again!

Thank you both for the suggestions.  I am using a DFS and also wondered if that might be the culprit.  I still haven't been able to determine what characteristic of the roaming profile produced my synchronization errors but, by building a new profile, everything is working normally now.  What's more interesting is that I was able to reproduce the synchronization errors on another domain (totally different system) and still don't know the cause.  I guess if there's something to take out of this, rebuilding a user profile could be (and may be) the best solution to hours of troubleshooting roaming profile synchronization errors!  Thanks again!
I saw the same problem caused by an update of Kaspersky Enterprise edition to MP2. When I disabled Real-time protection, it was able to sync the roaming profile without error.
