Destination Folder Access denied" when copying "my documents" to vista

I'm trying to migrate the my documents folder from XP to a Vista (64bit) pc....and am getting the "Destination Folder Access denied" message on some (but not all) pdf, xls, zip, and doc files

the user id/pw is the same on both machines.

any ideas?

Are you copying to different folders? Do you have write access to all destination folders? Are you copying to c:\windows or c:\program files or c: itself?

I'm copying to the same folders....I have two windows explorer windows open, and I'm dragging the sub folders to my documents to the "documents" folder in vista....so the sub  folders are being created right before the files are copied....

I'm not copying to program files or the windows directories

That means, the error message is crap. Hm, where to look next... Make sure you have read access to all source folders by taking ownership of these folders and by afterwards adjusting NTFS rights as shown here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421 (fits for vista as well).

the "disable simple file sharing in windows XP Pro" did the trick...thanks for your help
