One domain user is unable to log on to a vista machine without getting a message saying unable to load profile. This user gets a TEMP profile and can't save anything.
We do not have any roaming profiles on our network and this user also does not have a roaming profile.
Any other user can log onto this machine without problems.
There is nothing different or special that I can see in Active Directory with this problem user.
User is logging on locally, not remotely.
The user is added to the Local Administrators.
I am stumped.
Any ideas?

Thanks but it's not corrupt. There's no profile there at all by that name. The person's name is domain\Thomas and there is no user profile domain\Thomas, no files for Thomas under users and nothing relating to that user that I can see anywhere on this vista machine.
But when domain\thomas tries to log in it say:
Your user profile was not loaded correctly.
And then goes on to say that a temporary profile will be used.
I found this, and it worked:

My problem was solved using this technique:
1. Restart your PC to release the locks on your profile.
2. Log on with another administrative account
3. Delete C:\Users\%username%
4. Delete C:\Users\TEMP
5. Delete the registry key matching your SID from
"HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SO
NT\Cur
sure you pick your own profile.
6. Restart once again and then you're done!
Hope this helps someone using domain accounts instead of local ones!
