Browse All TopicsI need a free solution to the problem of automatically logging off users after a specified period of inactivity in Windows Vista Enterprise. I had previously had success using winexit.scr coupled with group policy to accomplish the same in XP. Since winexit.scr isn't Vista compatible, I need a different solution. This is for a public computer lab, so any solution which locks the screen instead of logging out is not acceptable.
Goals:
- Log out user after a set period of idle time
- Terminate any open applications
- Display a message to users with a countdown timer before actually logging out to allow user to cancel log out
