I downloaded some investment software. Every time I bootup Windows gives me a popup alerting me that the site may not be trusted.
It is, and I allow it. Where can I go to disable the popup so it recognizes that software program next time I bootup?
I notice that when using this same investment software, With Windows XP, if I created an order and took the 2 steps of confirming and submitting, with Windows XP, my cursor would follow the prompts, so all I had to do was click confirm, or submit, or use my enter key.
With Vista, my cursor does not give me this quicker way of executing actions.
Is this due to the new version of the investment software that was downloaded yesterday or a feature of Vista? (With the older version of the software and with Windows XP, my cursor would follow popups on all sites and let me click submit or whatever.
So, there may be two things going on:
XP had the feature and the "newer" Vista does not, unless there is a setting to allow this.
The newer version of the investment software has less features than the older version and this does not seem logical.

Ok. Not totally sure what you mean by the cursor following you around, but I'm going to assume that the newer version may have changed the way they focus on different controls. Is it actually software you install on the computer or is it web-based?
One thing you might try is going to Control Panel / Mouse / Pointer Options and enable the "snap to" function. This automatically positions the mouse over the default button in a dialog box. I don't know if that will help with what you're doing though... Alternatively you could just press the TAB key until it highlights the button you want to press.
What I mean is, if I click a button such as "submit" a popup window opens and that is to confirm what I am submitting. The choices at that point are "ok" or "cancel".
With my older computer and Windows XP, my cursor would go straight to the "ok" button after I clicked "submit". This is a feature I do not seem to get using Vista. Maybe there is a setting.
It was the same on any site, if you initiated an action, the cursor would move to the "option" that you would most likely choose.
Such as agreeing, or not agreeing, to some license agreement. My cursor would not have to be manually moved to the "agree" button, it went there automatically.
I'll try what you suggested in the control panel.

you need to turn of user account control
go to the control panel
select user accounts
then there is an advanced option to turn of UAC
youll need to restart your cpu
