Yes I changed the path in the registry for My Pictures to \\larry\test\My Pictures and no complaints during a test install.
Main Topics
Browse All TopicsI have 2003 server DC's and I have been redirecting "my documents" folders for users using windows XP just fine, I added 3 Vista machines and none work properly. I get errors whe I install software too. So as you can see from my attachment GP writes the Path to HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Explorer \ User Shell Folders, but Vista does not like this.
Current Value
My Pictures REG_EXPAND_SZ \\larry\home$\Libby\My Pictures
I can not install software on these machines, I get the following error.
Error 1324. The path to My Pictures contains an invalid character
Yes I can set the registry values to H:\My pictures and nothing complains but it gets overwritten on the next reboot by group policy to the original above.
Thanks for any help

This has probably got something to do with the $ in the share name. Please try (humour me) and set this to a different location and see if it proves my point.
