Question

Updates for FrontPage 2003 following a reinstallation from an original CD-ROM?

Asked by: R_Bruce_Morris

I have had to perform a reformatting of my hard disk on my HP dv9820us laptop, and reinstall Vista Home Premium x64, and all of my applications.  In reinstalling my FrontPage 2003 from my original CD-ROM, I have been unable to locate any of the necessary updates to bring it up to at least my previous SP3 state.  I have searched widely throughout the Internet, but without a succeessful resolution to date.
Please advise from where and how I can download those updates which are essential to my ability to continue to support my two websites.
Thanks, in advance, for any assistance which can be provided.
Appreciatively, Bruce

Have you tried updating online with the Microsoft Update page?

Otherwise you can buy the SP3 CD from Microsoft (it's part of the Office 2003 SP3 upgrade disk)

Hi MASQUERAID:
Thanks for the suggestions.  However, my extensive searches have included exhaustive ones on Microsoft websites.  I can find no reference to FrontPage 2003 updates which are available for downloading to meet my requirements.
I already have reinstalled Office 2003, including updates to SP3, but updates to FrontPage do not appear to be available, unless I must uninstall SP3, then download and reinstall it (I did reinstall Office 2003 before reinstalling FrontPage 2003).
Given these circumstances, what would you suggest?
Appreciatively,
Bruce

The majority of Office SP changes to Frontpage 2003 happened in SP1 & SP2, the SP3 fixes are mainly security issues.
Forget to include a link to a manual SP3 download but you'll probably have this already.

Simplest check after you've installed Office SP3 is to check the file version number for Frontpg.exe against this reference list

Specifically what feature(s) are missing which are affecting your website support?

I apologize for ma lack of attention!  I ought to have checked the "about" status of my FP 2003 installation.  Regrettably, I had not done so before submitting my question.  I can now confirm that FP 2003 SP3 is fully functional, with only my setting for Borders having to be updated.
O ought to be able to support my two websites successfully (before considering more seriously upgrading to a newer website support package)!
Appreciatively,
Bruce
