Browse All TopicsI've got a Gateway laptop running Vista Home Premium. A neighbor asked me to take a look at it claiming it simply shuts off. I've witnessed it shut off while running MBAM scans twice now. Simply shuts off completely. When booting back up there is no error (ie offer to start in safe mode) screen!?! The other thing I've noticed is that I get a Windows Explorer has stopped working" error that seems to loop when trying to access various folders. I can cancel this and go about as usual. When I boot into safe mode. This error comes up without me trying to access anything files/folders. I can't stop it there and the PC eventually just shuts off.
If I go into event viewer, the error that stands out reads:
"Faulting Application explorer.exe.....faulting module MSVCR80.dll..."
Any ideas?
