laptop wont boot
just completed a fresh install with factory sent dvd installation files. all drivers were installed properly. was actually activating the isp for the braodband chip and decided to reboot it first and it never came back. Nothing was changed annd the system had reboot numerous times with out error. Now safe mode doesnt help, and booting with the installation dvd and trying a repair doesnt work either. When booting into any mode the screen stops and hans at crcdisk.sys for ever then flashes a BSOD for 1.5 nano-seconds then tries to boot again. Dont want to do another install but I have 4 hours left with this unti before the owner wants it back. please advise
Boot from a CD (i.e. BartPE) and run a chkdsk via the command line and check the disk for inconsistencies and repair if necessary.
From the boot options, "Last Known Good Configuration (advanced)". Prior to that, select "Disable automatic restart on system failure" so the system wont reboot when it finds an error. If you get a BSD (Blue screen), post it here...
