Hi,
I am running WinXP Professional. The problem is:
My username is "UserA" and I want to change my username to "UserB". I go into User Accounts in Control Panel and changed my user name from "UserA" to "UserB". But, after reboot, I still see in Start Menu "Logoff UserA" and if go into DOS and do SET command, I can still see the username section with UserA, which is different from what says in Control Panel User Accounts. How and why is this happening and how to fix it.
Things to know:
1. I do NOT want to upgrade with SP1.
2. I do have administrative rights.

That's probabbly when you rename the account, it doesn't actually rename the folder.
Try this, rename the account back to UserA, then create a completely new account called UserB. Then log on under an administrative account other than UserA or UserB, then go into the System control panel, click the advanced tab, and open the user profiles settings. Now copy UserA to the folder containing UserB.
Crash2100: thanks for your comments, it works fine through this manual accounts creation method. However, I did lose some MSN and some web site password settings. And, I still do not understand why I changed the username in control panel, it dose not change the username in SET in DOS command and StartMenu logoff name. Anyone know why???

Delete userA.
