How do I reassign the shortcut keys to open the task manager? Somehow my son changed the keys, of course he says he didn't do it. It is his computer and I have tried to reassign the keys but I can't find the task manager .exe file Now when I press Ctrl Alt Del it shows the CPU Usage Monitor.

huckey is right about that. In winXP ctrl-alt-del will just bring up Windows Task Manager. If you want the older version of ctrl-alt-del when you get options to change your password or log on or off, go to ctrl panel -> user accounts. Go to change the way users log on or off and uncheck the Use the Welcome Screen option. This will put it like it is on win2k.
Ok the computer that I am sitting at now which is mine, not my son's, either Ctrl Alt Del or Ctrl Shift Esc will bring up the task manager. I will try the Ctrl Shift Esc on my son's computer tomorrow because he is sleep now. I think though it will have the same effect there as Ctrl Alt Del, but that is good to know anyway. I'll post the result here after I test it.
My question is where could this change have been made as ctrl alt del would bring up the task manager before on his computer? How can I reverse the change he made either intentionally or unintentionally?
No there aren't any tabs but it brings a large CPU Usage window. It is the same as the small one under the processes tab, in the task manager. Crash2100, while I was trying to figure out which tab to write a light went on and I figured out what the problem was. If anyone can tell me what it was then I'll award them the points. I actually feel kind of silly now. It was quite simple to get the task manager back to the normal view. It seems it was open but it didn't look like it normally does.

When you start Task Manager, the menu bar and tabs may not be visible.
Cause
This behavior can occur if Task Manager is running in Tiny Footprint mode.
When you double-click the empty space in the border around the tabs, Task Manager switches to this mode.
Resolution
To switch Task Manager to its normal display mode, double-click the top border of the window.
Workaround
To work around this behavior, perform the following steps:
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type taskmgr.exe.
Hold down CTRL+ALT+SHIFT at the same time, and while holding them down press ENTER.
