How should I go about setting up a system that already has XP Pro installed to dual boot to DOS? My XP is on an NTFS partition. I created a small FAT partition ahead of the NTFS, now I would like to be able to boot DOS from that or XP from the NTFS. The MS knowledge base talks about doing this but says I would need to install the DOS first.
I've looked a several web sites with tons of information but can't find this info. Can I simply add a DOS partition to the boot.ini?

I can't quite get it to work. I've SYS'ed the FAT partition and copied the ntldr and ntdetect.com to it. When I boot the Recovery Console and run BOOTCFG /Rebuild, it scans the system but only finds the NTFS as bootable, so I don't get an entry for the FAT partition.
Not sure what I am doing wrong, need more help.

Before you do backup these files to a floppy
ntdetect.com
ntldr
Go ahead and install DOS on that partition.
When finished do this
Boot from the XP CD, get into the Recovery Console, and type the following commands:
FIXMBR C:
FIXBOOT C:
COPY A:\I386\NTLDR C:\
COPY A:\I386\NTDETECT.COM C:\
BOOTCFG /Rebuild
Reboot
To start the Windows Recovery Console, use any of the following methods:
Start your computer by using the Windows Setup floppy disks or the Windows CD-ROM. At the "Welcome to Setup" screen, press F10 or press R to repair, and start the Windows Recovery Console.
