Browse All TopicsHi. This is an odd one for me. I was working on a XP Home PC that had been infected with a Virus (Worm that changed file associations to run itself.) The virus has been removed, All file associations are working properly but I now have on small problem, well, not actually a problem because I can start programs from the Run box, more of an anoyance. I can create a shortcut to a MS-Dos program on the desktop but when I try to open the program this way, it says there is not a program associated with it. After looking thru the Registered file types list and in the registry as well, I can not tell that there is a way to associate something with a .pif. Shortcuts to regular .Exe's work fine but just ones do Dos programs do not. I can open a command prompt and it works from there as well.
