PCMCIA SLOT PROBLEM

I have a weird problem. I am using a Compaq NX9005 laptop which has a Dlink DWL 650+ wireless PCMCIA card in it. The laptop is running Win XP SP1. The problem I have is that when I am running on battery power and the battery is about between 25% and 50% if I shut the laptop down and then restart it the Wireless PCMCIA card will not start. In device manager you get an errror stating that a service cannot start. But as soon as I plug the power lead in and shut the laptop down and restart I get no problems at all. Obviously this is a power problem somewhere but I cannot find anywhere to change any settings.

go  intto control panel then power options then on the ups tab set it up for your model

Still not received an answer to this problem. It seems that it might be related to the Dlink cards being 32bit. Does anybody know where I can get an updated 02 micro cardbus driver that might help.

most of the problems i have seen with pcmcia and xp is a lack of drivers, Are they even available?
