On a simple random basis I have a user trying to create new folders (sometimes deleting them as well) within windows explorer, and it completely locks the system. I cannot do the three finger salute (Ctrl-Alt-Del), nothing. Details about the CPU:
2.4 Ghz
1 GB
Window XP Pro Service Pack 1
I have tried Spybot, my virus DAT files are the most up to date.
Please give me some hints.

this may or maynot be a problem , but it can cause problems. Many OEM's ship pc's with the drive set to cable select. I have encountered all sorts of problems out of new pc's at work because of it. SO now the first thing I do when a new computer comes in is change the drive jumpers to master/slave as need. I hope this helps out your problem. I do remember one computer in particular, when opening my computer it would take a long time to populate a list.....or it just give and error, setting the jumpers fixed it.
