I guess you would be knowing the difference between home and pro of windows xp edition

I assume things would be more complicated and troublesome once you do something like what you want.What you may do is
when you install windows xp pro ( not sure if there is any option) , donot install most of the features if you think, you donot want.
or once installing try to disable the features that you think are not in windows xp home.
in other words , install windows xp pro ... you already know the difference in features between home and pro...
disable the features in xp pro that are not in home so that you are close to what you want.

This is a very generic question, but my guess is you won't have any problems installing the applications on your XP Home Ed. Most of the applications probably won't work and may even corrupt your XP Home Ed's OS.
Having said that I'll suggest to you that it isn't a good idea. If you want the power of XP professional then install XP Pro.
There is a reason the OS' have different titles. .
