I'd reccomend TightVNC It opens 2 ports - one lets the VNC client connect to it which is extremely smooth, the other server a webpage with a java applet which works quite nicely. Very customisable and very efficient. I normally access my home ocmputer from my laptop (which has the client) but it is nice to be able to access it from anywhere on any machine if I have to. About the only downside is that there is no "copy files to/from target machine" option, but then again, you can always email yourself from one computer to another.
Hope this helps
