try running msconfig from the run box then look througe startup and services tabs if you see anything that doesnt look right uncheck it if you didn't install it uncheck it. (BY the way if you see iexplore or explorer in any of the tabs it is NOT supost to be there) this will keep it from running at startup.

Have you updated your virus scanning software and checked for viruses? Some recent viruses have been disguised as the explorer.exe process.
