Playing games in XP on DOS?

This has got to be a unique question....
I found an old favorite game of mine (Conquests of Camelot from Sierra) that was build only for MS-DOS. I copies all the files onto my hard drive and tried to use the MSDOS shortcut for Install.exe. All it does is quickly display a DOS window and immediatly terminates. It terminates too fast for me to even see what it prints out. I've searched all over the place to find a solution (I never use forums unless I've looked really hard). This is a trustworthy site, I just hope somebody has some idea of what I should do, I really enjoyed this game on Win98. I wish they had kept a boot to DOS option, that would have solved my question probably.
I'm not sure if this a hard question for an IT expert, but I'll make it worth alot anyway.
